the LNL introduction course and get access to LIMS

This is a requirement for all users (except those who already completed a corresponding introduction course at another Myfab entity). The Lund Nano Lab Introduction course is a comprehensive training for how to work safely in the clean room environment at Lund Nano Lab.

The introduction course schedule is available on the home page of the Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS). Here you can apply for access to Lund Nano Lab.

Your LIMS account will be activated after attending the Lund Nano Lab introduction course.

Setup a Project for booking tools in LIMS

Ask your supervisor for project details and

inform Head of Laboratory, Luke Hankin and he will give you

then contact lnlusersupport@fysik.lu.se. The support team will provide you with access in LIMS to book against this project. Details needed: research group, project name and activity, name of associated fund, and duration of project if it is a new one. You cannot book tools without a project.

Get tool specific training and start booking tools

Individual tools are only available to book in LIMS

only

after you have been authorized by the responsible tool owner.

Start by identifying a practical coach who may be a regular user in your team/group. Spend some time learning how to use the tool and, when you are ready, you can apply for a licence in LIMS.

Contact the tool responsible (detailed in LIMS with the tool description) to arrange training

The 'tool responsible' will assess your skills and may grant you a licence.

What will it cost to book/use tools?

Access to the lab, some basic tools, and common consumable materials are included in a monthly access fee.
